![]() Intimacy is difficult between boys sometimes, especially boys with so much tension between them, boys who have been hewn with sharp edges by the world but round each other’s corners. ![]() Sunghoon falls asleep on Jaeyun’s shoulder and Jaeyun lets him sleep. ![]() Jungwon because he never drinks much when the whole group is drinking Heeseung doesn’t think he’s ever seen Jungwon truly drunk, but he might just be self-disciplined enough to hide it. Their day was packed full of schedules and their day tomorrow is, too these days they’re in the air or abroad more often than they sleep in their own dorm, and it doesn’t take long before the members are peeling off one by one to go to sleep, in various states of sobriety.įirst are Riki and Jungwon, Riki because he doesn’t drink much and he says that he doesn’t like putting alcohol in his body while they’re on tour, and he’s a bit of a stickler for rules even when he pretends not to be. It’s not quite the party that any of them would have preferred. It’s a prim and proper celebration, which only lasts until their managers head off to bed, and Jaeyun unveils more champagne. It’s nothing of a buzz, but somehow the idea of giving up control this way feels like it gives him control. He sips it daintily in front of his managers and lets it warm his chest, tingles that spread all the way to the tips of his fingers. It had never been his choice of liquor when he and Jongseong would sneak drinks into their trainee dorm. Heeseung has never liked champagne, not the first time he had tried it and he hasn’t ever since. Just a split-second moment in which his breath catches and he feels like he’s lost all control, and then Jongseong looks away and Heeseung gulps down air and champagne and the moment is gone. Catches his eye and it’s all over with a single glance, one glance that makes Heeseung’s heart stutter. He makes eye contact with Jongseong over the rim as he lifts it to his lips. Three years is a lifetime and Heeseung feels the weight of each day as he lifts his glass for a toast. They’re all in good spirits, celebrating three successful years, three years in which they had barely kept it together at times but had always triumphed in the end. Dinner and a single bottle of champagne split among them, even Riki, who their managers turn a blind eye to when he sips from his hyungs’ glasses. That night at the dorm, they have a small celebration with their managers. The company doesn’t want him to drink it live anyway, but it’s a gift to the group and they hadn’t been allowed to drink champagne when their member lineup was decided, not even Heeseung. Jaeyun saves the champagne he unboxes on live.
